  1. Welcome to MissionForce: CyberStorm, a strategy game set 
  2. in the Earthsiege universe.  CyberStorm takes strategy gaming
  3. to a new level, with a detailed and rich turn-based game
  4. that uses superb graphics and gameplay to challenge even the 
  5. most experienced gamer.
  6.  
  7. For convenience, you may run this demo directly from the CD.
  8. However, to insure optimal speed while examining this demo, you can 
  9. copy the entire demo subdirectory from the CD to your hard drive.  
  10. The demo can run entirely from the CD, but will run more smoothly 
  11. if run from your hard drive.
  12.  
  13. To play this demo, you need only select the "Sample CyberStorm"
  14. option from the main menu.  This will take you directly into 
  15. a sample game of CyberStorm.  From this game, you can build a 
  16. force of your choosing (though from a very restricted list of 
  17. units, a mere sample of the units you'll be able to access in 
  18. the full game) and then challenge any of the standard missions.

  20. NOTE:  If you do not have Microsoft's Direct X drivers installed
  21. on your system, you will not hear any sounds in this demo.  The
  22. full release version of CyberStorm will install these needed 
  23. drivers automatically and you will be able to hear our full sound
  24. and music once you install the release version of the game.  You 
  25. can download the needed drivers from Microsoft directly if you 
  26. have access to the Internet.

  28. When you enter the demo, you will already have a force of two 
  29. Hercs (the giant fighting machines you will command in this 
  30. game) and two Bioderms (the pilots who drive those Hercs).  
  31. These Hercs and Bioderms are already linked (which means the 
  32. Bioderms are assigned to pilot their specific Hercs), and your 
  33. mission selected... so you can just jump right in and play a 
  34. mission.  If you choose, however, you can modify your force by 
  35. visiting the Bioderm facility (where you can train your Bioderms), 
  36. the Herc Bay (where you can upgrade your Herc's weapons and 
  37. systems... or purchase additional Hercs), and/or the Command 
  38. Center (where you can choose a new mission).  Once you've made 
  39. your adjustments, you can launch the mission and enjoy a sample 
  40. of CyberStorm.

  42. While exploring the demonstration version of CyberStorm, use the
  43. right mouse button to click on items you'd like more information
  44. on.  Though the game manual and help files are unavailable on the
  45. demo version, the full right-click help IS available.  It will 
  46. help guide you though the demonstration.

  48. In the full release version of CyberStorm, there are 30 different 
  49. Bioderm pilots available, 8 different Hercs, 70 different weapons, 
  50. over 30 different internal component systems, and 23 different 
  51. worlds to challenge.  With a mission generator as part of the game, 
  52. no two missions will ever be alike.  With almost limitless 
  53. combinations of weapons and systems, you can play through a 
  54. campaign of CyberStorm, and then start another to enjoy a 
  55. completely new experience.

  57. Though this demo does not allow you to sample the multiplayer 
  58. capability of CyberStorm, you can play the release version over a 
  59. modem between two human players, or with up to eight players on a 
  60. local-area network.  The mission generator puts YOU in control, 
  61. allowing you to construct any mission type you wish for a 
  62. multiplayer game... from competitive "smashfests" to cooperative 
  63. missions where you and your friends are trying to destroy an enemy 
  64. base.
